Whitepaper: Hyperscaling Quantum Processors with VIO™
Executive Summary
Quantum computing will solve problems beyond the reach of classical computers, but only if processors can scale to the qubit counts at which useful algorithms can run.
Superconducting quantum processors are the strongest foundation for computing, but have stalled below 200 qubits for the last 5 years, far short of what useful computation requires.
The cause is architectural, not qubit physics: four bottlenecks in traditional designs create hard ceilings that cannot be overcome incrementally. VIO™ fundamentally resolves all four bottlenecks in a single QPU architecture. VIO has proven excellent performance and will provide the most compute per watt.
QuantWare has built a global market presence as the highest volume commercial QPU supplier in the world, serving customers in 20 countries. QuantWare is now scaling to industrial scale production with KiloFab, the world’s largest quantum open architecture fab.
VIO-40K, a 40,000 signal line (typically 10,000 qubit processor) architecture is available for order today and will ship in 2028 - providing an architecture for QPUs with 100× more qubits than today’s state of the art
VIO is accessible to the entire quantum computing industry: it is available in QuantWare QPUs, via foundry services, and as VIO chiplet integration services.
